Dear colleagues, friends and ICCs members
May I suggest that we meet in Gdansk, Poland, september 12-14?
This will be the site and date for the 2019 ICCS conference and I know that it’s going to be just perfect.
I know this for several reasons. The first is our trusted ICCS Regional Representative for Central Europe, pediatric nephrologist dr Michal Maternik, who has already proven his worth in many ways. This time he will team up with distinguished pediatric urologist Rafal Chrzan (aren’t Polish names just lovely?) and many other experts. The second is the fact that the ICCS has already been to Poland (under Michal’s leadership), during courses in Gdansk and Krakow, and these events were unforgettably successful.
The third reason for you to go to the conference is the city of Gdansk itself. It is just lovely; immaculately rebuilt after World War II and full of history, both ancient and modern. This was one of the major Hanseatic cities during the middle ages, full of riches from the Baltic trade, and it was arguably also the very place where the Berlin wall started falling. It was from the dockyards of Gdansk that Lech Walesa started the peaceful revolution that became the beginning of the end of the Soviet system. So, what better place could there be to hold a truly international conference focused on science – the critical but friendly communication of evidence and ideas.
See you in Gdansk!
